And death shall have no dominion… Though lovers be lost love shall not. Dylan Thomas

Society today reflects a steady change in personal views and beliefs on matters of faith, death and dying.

Religious belief has been, and remains, very important in the lives of many and can play a vital role in the process of grieving. But as society becomes increasingly secular, many others experience a life where religion plays little or no part, or where a spiritual path is followed but not allied to any particular religious faith.

Civil celebrants are not affiliated to any specific belief system and are therefore not bound by a particular approach. This means that I am able to deliver ceremonies that might be entirely without religious reference, may include some religious content - for example a favourite hymn or prayer - or can accommodate other spiritual values, depending upon the beliefs of the person who has died and the wishes of those who are bereaved.
